extreme sledding

We went to Hatcher Pass on Saturday for some "extreme sledding"...Alaska style! Never NEEDED goggles for sledding before, but they're a necessity on this run! We joined Rob, Isabel & their family for a fun afternoon.

sit

Thomas really prefers sitting lately. As the pictures show, he can't do it yet without help but he sure does love being up to see everything. The slow motion falls are kind of funny, but he doesn't seem too bothered by them...or much at all. He's four months old tomorrow!

show & tell

Claire's show & tell at preschool today was supposed to be an "Alaskan animal." She really wanted to bring Thomas as her show & tell, so asked me to dress him in an outfit that was an Alaskan animal. Well...don't have many of those, but did find one with a bear on it. I asked her if she really wanted to bring Thomas because the kids have all seen him before. She insisted that she did as "They only get to see his head, mom." OK! Why not? She is so proud of her little brother:) and did a great job showing him off today in front of her class. Sweet sister!

happy T

We continue to be amazed at how HAPPY Thomas is! He is constantly talking and laughing at each of us. All he needs is some eye contact and he just goes to town. He has a few "giggle buttons" that really get him going. Wish we could put a recording of it on the blog for you! There is simply nothing like the sound of a baby giggling. He still loves his changing table and kicks, wiggles, & swims the whole time....

A real live dolly!

The girls discovered this weekend that Thomas fits in their dolly stroller just perfectly! When they asked to put him in there at first, I told them they couldn't because his head wouldn't have any support. "No problem, mom! I'll just hold it!" Ella solved the problem and I couldn't say no:) He won't tolerate this forever, so why not?

St. Patrick's Day...

We enjoyed (well, most of us!!) a fun St. Patrick's Day breakfast of pull apart with green frosting and green milk. Tom and Ella were a little freaked out by the milk...I had to race Ella to get her to finish her milk, and Tom? Well, his milk is still in the fridge.

dollies

Grandma Sheryl made these great jammies for the girls and their dollies. They are worn much and loved lots! Thanks Grandma:)

Family Fun

Ever played spoons before? It's an old favorite in our family! And a game is never complete without trying your skill at the nose hang...a new skill the girls have now mastered!!! Thanks, Paul:)

Fancy Nancy

Claire & Thomas & I stayed home while the rest of the family snowmachined out to watch the Iditarod start in Willow. Gr'ma Sheryl gave Claire the book, "Fancy Nancy" and she is really into it....she picked out our tablecloth, teacups, centerpiece and got us all decked out for a "Fancy Nancy Supper." Like the book, we ate with our pinkies up and called eachother "Darling" We had parfaits for dessert, complete with kings crowns! What more could a little girl ask for?

Iditarod

Well, Paul & Karen have gone back to MN already. Amazing how fast a week goes! We had a great time. We enjoyed lots of Iditarod together... both in Anchorage & Willow.

Even checked out SNOWZILLA...a 23 foot snowman!

Paul & Karen

We are enjoying time with Paul & Karen as they are here visiting from MN... Went to Anchorage and saw the Fur Rendezvous snow & ice sculptures. The ice slide was a huge hit! Enjoyed a yummy supper at the South Side Bistro for my birthday too:)

It was crazy hat day at school...I was so proud of Ella for wearing my CHICKEN hat to school! She thought she'd be too embarrassed, but pulled it off. I wonder if I'll ever be able to talk her into it again??:)
