Well, my high school class reunion was this summer, but I didn't go. Many reasons brought me to this decision even though I certainly miss my family, the farm, friends, & summers in MN. This summer, a trip was not to be. The evening of my high school class reunion, we went hiking at Hatchers Pass. It was fun to not be dressed up and not be wondering what those around me were thinking or answering all those questions.... In contrast, our evening was comfortable, relaxed, fun. I am content. Content where God has placed me and content with those he has surrounded me with. Life is good.
Camping in Seward has become an annual Young Life Labor Day event...or at least, we've done it the past two years & plan on continuing for years to come....Because it's so much FUN! Our kids look forward to this campout all year:) This year was no exception! The weather was horrible...LOTS of rain & wind, but when you're with your buddies, fun trumps all...These first few photos were taken by Molly or Kristian...Thanks guys!
The annual trip to the Alaska State Fair = fun. The annual trip with good friends =TONS of fun! Summer would not be complete without some greasy cheesecurds, cotton candy, a peak at the giant veggies, the walk through the animal barn, & the bumper cars so... it's to the fair we go each August. I am almost certain I have never laughed as hard at the fair as I did this year as Kathleen & I watched Porter and Thomas attempt to navigate on the bumper cars.
