guess who?

Do you recognize this sweet face?
It's TOM at 10 months! Tom's mom & dad sent it as we were comparing Tom & Thomas. There are definite similarities...

no more training wheels!

On Thursday, Claire begged Tom to take her training wheels off. He did and worked with her a couple of hours in the road. By Friday, she woke up early and was anxious to get outside and ride some more. I helped her for a couple of hours and by noon, she was riding completely by herself! We were absolutely amazed at how fast she mastered this! She is so very proud:) and it's fun to see her so excited about being outside! Her good friend, Abby, saw her with Tom and asked her dad to take her training wheels off to. He did, and she learned too! My little girl is growing up....

baby blues

All Thomas needs is some eye contact...and he smiles and talks away.
Those baby blues just melt my heart!

Yesterday as I was washing every possible blanket & disinfecting the house, I realized that I never did a photo shoot of Thomas at 3 months. He's certainly had his picture taken, but not a real shoot like I did for the girls. Well, here we are TODAY and he's already 5 months old. He's a rolly, squishy, very happy baby. The rolls on his arms look a bit like the Michelin Man! He's officially doubled his birth weight and is at 18 big lbs already. He's recently rolled over for the first time, dislikes rice cereal (I think he's ready for real baby food!), and has found his feet. Wow, how the time flies. What a precious gift he is...

we're back

What a weekend we had...Tom brought Thomas to the dr. on Friday and learned he had croup. On Saturday, Tom left for 4 days for the first boating outing of the season. The girls and I ALL got the stomache flu Saturday and had a miserable night without sleep. I'll save you the details! We did nothing on Sunday but sleep and lay on the couch until about 7pm. The girls then put Thomas in a box and pulled him around the kitchen....significant in our being "boxed in" for the day! Wow...we're so thankful for our health, that Dad is home and that we're all moving again! It feels good to be back on the blog...haven't been here or even looked at another in 2 weeks. We're back. Feels good.

Happy Easter!

Claire put ears on Thomas last week and we spent time giggling over it! Happy Easter to you!

tea time

Today we went to the Mother Daughter Tea at our church. The girls LOVED dressing up as usual and getting all fancied up for the occasion! You can't really tell here, but their hair was all curlies and they're wearing the clip on earrings they picked out with Easter money from Gr'ma & Gramps.

The Scared Little Rabbit

Ella was the story teller in her play, The Scared Little Rabbit, yesterday at school. It was very cute & was modeled after Chicken Little. All the kids in her class got to perform in two plays, and Ella was VERY PROUD that she got to do all four plays. Our friend, Molly, brought her boys, Caden & Sawyer, to watch. That was a special treat & fun surprise for Ella... The night before her play was cute too. At bedtime, she asked me how long she could read. I told her she could read for 10 minutes, but she said, "I guess I'm not going to read tonight." Pretty soon Claire came out of their room with Ella's socks and brought them to the laundry basket. I asked her what she was doing and told her Ella could do that herself. She said, "She needs to get her rest for the play tomorrow." Oh my! Such serious business!!!!!

rice cereal

Thomas had his first taste of rice cereal tonight. Loved it is an understatement! It took him a whole TWO bites to get the hang of it and then he squealed between bites as he wanted more. It took the girls several feedings to get the hang of it...He's a boy, I guess! I felt kind of bad that I hadn't given him cereal earlier until I looked at the pictures....The rolls are evidence that he IS getting plenty of nourishment! The girls helped feed him (OF COURSE) and personalities came out as usual. Ella gave Claire orders..."Wipe his mouth, not so much!..." Claire insisted that he needed his mouth wiped and wasn't happy until she got out a napkin and cleaned him up! And the beautiful picture of me....Ella was SO PROUD of herself for taking that picture of me! It's oh so hard to not open my mouth when I feed a baby! Ella thought it was hilarious. Since she's becoming quite the "blogger," I decided I best include it. She's been asking daily to look at everyone's blogs when I'm at the computer...

saucer smiles

He's growing up! This week Thomas tried out the exer-saucer for the first time & loves it. He drools and chews away on his fingers and just in general is happy in it.
Claire made a unique bed out of kitchen chairs...

eggstravaganza!

Ah, Sunday evenings...they're all about family time. Tonight, we dyed eggs, even glittered them...What fun! Afterwards, we enjoyed our usual Sunday night supper...popcorn & smoothies! Another reason to love Sundays...no cooking for mom!
