shiny shoes

The girls and I had a "girly" day and went shoe shopping in Anchorage last Friday.  Laughed when I came home to see what Tom bought Claire while we were away...This mom and dad take delight in shopping for different things! There's nothing like the shine on a new pair of shoes.

pink shooter

Tom bought Claire a PINK 22 and she shot it for the first time this weekend.  A pink gun.  Only in Alaska.  Only our Claire.  Ella has her own 22, but it looks like a standard gun.  Not Claire's...Love all her pink in this photo...boots, coat, gun.  And check out that smile...she was pretty proud!

pure joy.

I've been working on memorizing this verse for the past week.  Tried to focus on it today, despite the days events...Ella woke up with the stomach flu and we learned that Thomas has another absess on his bottom.  The doctor tried to cut it and pop it, but no luck.  We now are to give him a bath 3 times every day and try to milk the gunk out of there.  YUCK.

Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance.  Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.  If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him.  JAMES 1:2-5

you would know if you were me.

The boys and I joined Claire on her class' fieldtrip to an apple tree:) this week.  It was just down the street from their school, but it was fun for us to join her.  At bedtime last night, the girls were arguing about something.  Claire finally burst out, "You would know if you were me!"  So true:)  Tom and I laughed and laughed!

fair

Couldn't let a year slip by without posting a couple of fair photos...The girls highlights included crazy hair, face paint, & cotton candy.  Owen got the super baby ribbon, & Thomas stayed home with a sitter.  Fun for all!  Check out the size of that pumpkin!  Paul...have you grown any this big?

wbc made newsweek!

Wow.  That's just about all I can say.  Wow.  I'm super pumped that Sarah Palin got the VP nomination!!!  I'm proud of her and truly hope she gets elected!  GO SARAH!  I cannot imagine the feeling of being in the national spotlight, however.  The media is ruthless and will DIG until they find something negative.  Nothing negative here, but a good true article about her attending our church.  Got our pastor's name wrong, but I think that's all!   Here is the article...
