camp

Well, Ella is home.  I don't believe I have ever heard my girl so excited or chatty over anything in her 8 years!  She sang every campfire song for me, told me about the skits, the schedule of each day, the snacks she ate, the activities, the pranks a boys cabin played on her cabin, you name it....she filled me in!  HOW AWESOME.   I now have some answers to my questions ...

...Is there anything you missed about home?  "Owen." After Claire & I tickled her because she didn't name us she confessed that when they asked kids to raise hands if they missed home today, she & Gabi were the only ones who raised their hands.  I'm thinking---sweet, see she did miss me after all.  Then she said she asked the others, "Don't you miss your dog?" Oh Ella!

...What did you eat?  "donuts for breakfast today and smores last night at the campfire!"  When I quizzed her on all the other meals she had no memory of what she ate other than pancakes, lemonade, spaghetti, & chicken.

...After counting dirty clothes in her suitcase I learned she changed clothes everyday except for today.  Not bad!  And no one had to pick up her socks because she never wore any!!!!!  (It was chilly all week, but who needs socks?)

...She clearly enjoyed it just as much as I did as a little girl and I'll have to admit, yes, I guess she was indeed old enough.

She's at camp.   All week I've been trying to figure out how I feel about this...

...is she missing us?
...did she ever change her clothes?
...who picks up her socks?
...has she made a new friend?
...has her faith become more real to her?
...did she brush her teeth?
...what did she eat?
...is she having as much fun at camp as I did?
...is she really old enough for this?

We pick her up tomorrow morning & I'm ready!

2 months

Our Owen is already 2 months old.... This is the first time I've been able to capture his smile with a photo!  And don't you just love his extra chin?

sister snuggles

i think this picture is hilarious!  claire  & i were on a grocery date (i now shop at night with only one child!) and when i checked email tonight, i found this picture!  ella was playing on the computer and figured out how to do this...she's sitting on our bed, but somehow in photobooth she figured out how to get a rollercoaster background.  looks pretty realistic to me!!!!
