What a gift it is to have Tom's parents living here. I got to bake Gramps a cake and we all celebrated together & on his actual birthday...IN ALASKA! What a treat.

nativity

The nativity scene pieces have never seen so much action as they did this year at Christmas! Owen was forever hauling them all over the house and it just made my heart so happy to see him loading and rescuing and saving these guys. Reverse symbolism of what Jesus does for us? Yes, indeed. I need His rescue on a daily basis.
And another favorite of mine about Christmas is seeing 3 year olds up front at church in their nativity costumes. This year didn't disappoint. One of the shepherds was scared to death, Mary covered her ears as the song was too loud, I bribed Joseph to go up front with some chocolate, but they are OH SO CUTE, aren't they? Those little eyes peeking out around the star....Love it, love them, love Him!

We've been watching #43 play a lot of basketball this year! It's been so fun to watch Ella grow in her bball skills this year and become a leader on her team. Her team took second place in this tournament.

Leaps & bounds

Claire has turned into an AMAZING reader this winter! She competed in "Battle of the Books" recently and did a great job with her team of 4. She's also an amazing gymnast who is growing by leaps and bounds in all her routines! Go Claire:)

Thomas is 5

Thomas, you are a treasure... You are so very kind. You care deeply about others and love nothing more than a playdate with a close bud. You try so hard to obey and do what you're told. Your memory for scripture amazes us. You understand numbers & the way that they work. You're a helper. You love to identify what's healthy and eat it (well, most of the time!) You hate eggs, but love oatmeal with blueberries. You're a Mario-master and a technology whiz. You're five, and we couldn't love you more!
