haircut

I experienced my first little boy haircut this week...true to Thomas, it was an adventure!  I had the sequence of events all wrong & learned a few lessons in the process...

-a bath should always FOLLOW a haircut not proceed one.
-suckers help distract, but hair STICKS to sucker drool
-you should never try to clean up cut hair with a wet washcloth
-bangs should be cut with scissors, not clippers
-it is tricky to cut evenly on a moving target
-there's no such thing as perfect!

Despite the adventure, I'm feeling pretty proud of my boys cut!

Way to go, Pam! The little guy's cut looks great! Here is my tip (I feel like I am constantly cutting someones hair around here...all four guys!) When I was "training" the boys (not including Tony--ha) to have their hair cut, I used to put them in the tub and wash their hair. Then I gave them a lollipop while they soaked and I cut away using scissors and a comb. The wet hair is easy to cut evenly. When you're done, you just let the water down the drain and then rinse the tub...and wipe out the hair in the drain with a kleenex. Works for me.
